Your Car’s Checklist
Before ushering on a long road trip, it is suggested to get your car to go through regular maintenance in order to make sure it is in good working condition for the distance you are traveling. Here are some guidelines you should go through:
Check whether all fluid levels are sufficient-coolant, oil, brake fluid power steering fluid, transmission fluid, etc.
Check whether your tire is having sufficient pressure which includes your spare tire. Also, check for the wear and tear of your tire.
Check your seat belts, car battery, and airbags during the maintenance of your car.
Check your air-conditioning for proper cooling and gas levels.
Wiper blades should be in good order. In many instances in dry weather or when not in use, wiper blades become hard. So, if you don’t use it frequently, getting a new wiper blade for your car would be useful.
Check whether all the lights are in working order – indicator lights, headlights, fog lamps, and internal car lights.
Keep a maintenance toolkit with necessary tools which will be useful for you as well as a tire changing kit and jumper cables.
Study the route map and find out the distances and locations between the stops where refueling of your car is available. Make sure to have sufficient fuel in your car before starting your trip.

Keep a small first aid kit in your car just in case of any kind of unexpected emergencies. Make sure your kit contains band-aids, bandages, antiseptic, some painkillers, and cotton swabs.
Take sufficient water along with you for at least the duration of the trip you plan to go without any further stops. It is better to carry flip-top bottles and sippers since they are suitable and help avoid spillage.
Carry along with yourself wet wipes, tissues, sanitizers, and hand towels since you would need them throughout your trip.
If you wish to eat and have snacks in your car, the likelihood of messy crumbs would be there in your car. So, make sure to have a small USB-powered car vacuum cleaner that would make your car clean from any untidy shits.
Kids tend to mess with certain things during road trips, so make sure you have washed your seat covers to make them comfortable enough. Also, lining the water bottle slot, the coffee cup slot, and other storage areas with towels/paper will help you to clean it up at frequent stops easily.
Make sure you have a car charger for your devices such as phone, tab, etc. These devices take more power looking for networks or for GPS navigation while you drive on the road.
Checklist for your Kids
The engine is the heart of your bike that lets the entire machine run. Without a healthy engine, your vehicle can break down at any time. It becomes difficult to get your engine tuned before heading on the road.
Check if any knocking sound, unusual time, and smoke persists frequently in your vehicle. Neglecting a tune-up procedure can lead to engine failure. Inspecting the engine of your vehicle familiarizes you with the parts that are required to be fixed or replaced. Roadside assistance comes to your rescue in such situations.
Make sure you carry an extra set of clothes along with you whenever you go on a long drive. Normally kids spill water, juice, etc, and carrying a fresh set will make them feel comfortable. Keep enough diapers and their changing mat if your kids are toddlers.
Keep some stickers and activity books, picture books, books with riddles and puzzles are an ideal means to keep your kids engrossed as well and they can enjoy some good family time as well.
Make sure you should carry travel game sets along with you to have a variety with you in addition.

Make sure to have a playlist ready with your kid’s favorite music so that you can sing along and have fun during your entire journey.
Keep a favorite toy or special things of your kids they would like to carry with them always. Keep it in your car which gives them a pleasant experience.
